The Department of International Politics is one of the world's leading centres of excellence for the study of international relations. Founded in 1919, with a bequest given by Lord Davies in the memory of students killed and wounded in the First World War, it is the world's first of its kind. Throughout its history the Department has endeavoured to bring its research and teaching excellence to bear on the realisation of a more just and peaceful world order.
