Throughout the course you will be encouraged to develop a creative approach to short design briefs that explore key design elements including: balance, repetition, contrast and hierarchy. These ideas will then be transformed into a series of multiple, dynamic book structures and formats: brochure, map, pamphlet, fold out, exposed spine and Swiss-style.

- Develop creative thinking + hands on skills based on key graphic elements without use of a computer.
- Experimental bindings to suit your design, including: folded, map, glued and sewn using a variety of materials.

You will be taught through demonstrations, practical exercises, group work and individual tuition. All tools and materials are provided. VD334 Book Arts: graphic techniques and book structure. Your tutor will be able to advise you during this course.
