Designing a Denim Collection

Initially the focus will be on research and creating a mood board. You will be introduced to the variety of different denim qualities – collect samples, work on fabric manipulation and identify the wash level for your range.

Once you have fully interrogated the qualities of the fabric you will then design around these and your mood board to create a denim-based range of 3 to 6 outfits. This might be a jean collection or a multi product range for the market of your choice.

Outcomes

By the end of this course you should have a thorough grasp of how to design for denim, choosing the right denim for your desired end result and building a balanced range. A completed project for your portfolio.

This course is suitable for students with some experience of design who either have a general interest or wish to specialize in denim design and gain a deeper knowledge of he area.
