This highly-focused course presents an opportunity to develop a specific practical documentary or photojournalism project. It is ideal for students who have completed the 'Documentary and photojournalism' course (code VY600), or for anyone who would like to research and develop a photography project in some depth. You will receive practical and professional expert guidance from a working photographer on the various stages of your work in order to improve your photographic technique, presentation skills and artistic confidence. There will be weekly critiques and feedback sessions, and we'll also cover aspects such as marketing, and any ethical dimensions to your work.

About this course

Please bring your camera to the classes, and you may wish to bring a notebook, pen and a memory stick. City Lit has a range of digital SLR cameras, tripods and lenses which you are welcome to use during the hours of the class.
The City Lit photography studio (at Kean St) is an annex and not part of the main building; there is no reception, so please do not arrive more then 5 minutes before the start time of your class, and do try the door before ringing the bell.

This challenging course will include seminars, group discussion, and weekly tutor and peer feedback. Students will be encouraged to bring in photographic work on a weekly basis for discussion and critique. Please note we will be using Apple Mac computers.
