Undersatnd how to deal with 'hypos' and 'hypers' in the workplace. Understand the importance of balance in the diet. Understand the complications associated with diabetics. Suitable for: Anybody who has dealings with diabetics particularly if dealing with producing their food and controlling what they eat.

Course programme

Diabetes is an ever growing problem with an estimated 1 million undiagnosed diabetics in the UK. A disease which is prevalent in all areas of the community and one that has ever growing numbers suffering from it. You have to control diabetes and not let it control you. This course helps to give an awareness of the problems associated with it and what should be done to help the diabetics cope better.

This is a part-day course of 3 hours duration

Areas covered during the course include:

  • Symptoms and causes of diabetes
  • Treatment for diabetes
  • Dealing with hypoglycaemic & hyperglycaemic episodes
  • Blood glucose teasting and control
  • Keeping well from cols and flu
  • Diet and food
