This course will be delivered as a full time course as level 1 in a single academic year. The academic week will be timetables over three or four days.

The academic year runs from September to the following July.

The ITQ allows for flexibility and choice. ITQs are a new IT user qualification spanning from Entry Level 2 to Level 3. These qualifications give the learner an opportunity to develop their confidence, self-esteem and the knowledge and necessary skills to enter employment, return to work or seek new opportunities.

The aim of this qualification is to recognise the application of a range of IT user skills and knowledge in the workplace, meeting employer workforce demands. The flexibility of the ITQ will enable individuals’ skills to be adapted for a specific work based activity and/or employer requirement.

This qualification will sit within the Foundation Learning Tier and will allow for progression across a range of IT User qualifications at different levels and will complement other vocational qualifications. Units from this qualification can contribute to ITQ at different levels or be used towards qualifications in other subject areas. It will also allow progress to apprenticeships, skilled employment or supported employment.

The qualification consists of core and specialist units in computing subjects. Core units will include Personnel and Social Development, Functional Skills in Math and English.
