You will need 4 GCSEs to enter the course, at least 2 at Grade C and 2 at Grade D.

One of the C grades must be in English or Maths.


Non-GCSE equivalent level 2 courses will not be considered as entry qualifications.

The BTEC First in Information Technology is made up of eleven modules. Each student will cover four core modules, four mandatory modules and three optional modules (selected by the coordinators). The modules offer a range of skills required within the computing sector and are aimed to develop specialist as well as common knowledge including ‘Creating Computer Graphics’ and understanding ‘Technology Systems’. The BTEC First provides a good basis to go into a more advanced work-related qualification.
