Diploma in Aromatherapy Techniques
NVQ Level 3
Introduction
This is a nationally recognised qualification awarded through VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust). It includes the specialist knowledge of a variety of essential oils and full body massage using a variety of techniques. This is a comprehensive qualification which also includes all the relevant anatomy and physiology of the face and body.
Course Content
The course includes the following modules:
VR02 - Health and Safety
VR74 - Support employment standards
VR27- Assess the client for treatment
VR28 - Blend essential oils and provide the massage
VR106 - Demonstrate consultation skills for therapy treatments
All modules must be completed to gain the full qualification.

A college interview with the course tutor will be necessary. Students must have a good understanding of the requirements and commitments of the course. Duration
The course is run as a part time programme of study for 1 year.
Assessment
After the initial delivery of the units there will be continual assessment of practical skills with oral questions and homework tasks to include case studies. These form the basis for a completed portfolio together with externally set end papers.

The progression route for this course would be onto any other holistic qualification
