Part TimeTypically attendance will be required for two days. The qualification for this course will be a Brickwork Diploma Award.The qualification is accessible to everyone who wishes to continue their personal development in English and Maths and has a record of continual self achievement. Course programme

The qualifications are aimed at people wishing to learn some skills in bricklaying, to progress on to becoming skilled in their chosen trade, or to progress through an apprenticeship and work towards becoming a master craftsman.


Another important feature of the Diploma’s is that it provides a progression route towards achieving a National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at level 2. Units within a Diploma route relate to the units within the relevant construction NVQ. NVQ in Trowel Occupations Level 2 is for either new entrants to the industry or mature applicants working within the construction industry wishing to become trade qualified. An NVQ requires a candidate to be working in the industry to provide evidence to support its achievement.

Technical qualification allows candidates to learn, develop and practise and further the skills required for employment and/or career progression in Bricklaying.


A technical qualification is considered to be the industry standard. Obtaining this level can lead to a career as a bricklayer.
