Skills and Benefits
To provide opportunities for you to develop a range of skills, techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in employment as a Hairdresser. This will include communicating with clients, working with others and problem solving. You will study the theory and practice of hairdressing services to include the 9 mandatory units and additional optional units. The underpinning knowledge and skills required to successfully perform these services is also required.

Course Assessment
Once you have completed all your portfolios of evidence, assignments and underpinning knowledge, you will have a final practical test carried out by the Internal Assessor using the ITEC marking criteria and final assessment form. The ITEC External Verifier will visit a minimum of twice a year and review a sample of evidence as well as observing general overall skills of everyone on the course.
Progression
Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing, Level 2 Certificate in Barbering, Level 3 Certificate in Barbering, Level 2 Certificate in African Type Hair or Level 3 Certificate in African Type Hair. This qualification qualifies you to operate their own salon or home visiting practice or gain employment in Hairdressing Salons, Hotels and Liners.
