Will I need anything else?
You will need a black overall and sensible full shoes, to ensure a professional dress code. A hairdressing kit and hairdressing book to help you with your projects. A camera needs to be available for photographic evidence and a file for your portfolio. You will need to provide models for assessments.
How long & often do I attend?
You can choose how to study this course, either as a substantial programme requiring attendance of several sessions per week, or study for a longer period of time for a reduced number of sessions per week. An 90% attendance is required for successful completion of this course.
(You may be required to attend on the day of the External Verifier's visit).
How will I be assessed?
Formal end of unit examinations, which are set by the awarding body. Continual assessments are carried out throughout the study period. Also projects are required throughout the course.
What opportunities will this lead to?
In the ever-changing industrial workplace the traditional salon is not the only key to employment. New and exciting career opportunities are open to enthusiastic, keen stylists. Examples including working aboard cruise liners travelling the world, being a self-employed salon owner, a freelance stylist and working in TV and the media.
