Please note: this course is for those aged 19+ only.
This course is a nationally recognised qualification which provides you with the knowledge and skills required to offer specialist support to children in primary, secondary or special schools. You will study planning, delivering and reviewing assessment strategies to support learning alongside the teacher as well as, bilingual and special needs support, if applicable.
To gain this qualification, you will need to achieve 44 credits, with 40 credits being achieved at Level 3 or above. A total of 32 credits will come from the mandatory units and a minimum of 12 credits from optional units.
You will also be required to attend placement 2 full days a week, or equivalent and 3 hours a week in College.

In order to qualify for this course students must: be at least 19 years old have sufficient general education to undertake a Level 3 qualification (e.g. have achieved a GCSE or equivalent at Grade C or above) be working in a school in a paid, voluntary or placement capacity at Foundation Stage (reception class only) or Key Stage 1 - 4 for a minimum of 60 hours per unit have a placement secured provide a reference Please note: To gain access to this course you will need to go through a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
