Building Regulations 2005: Part P

The DISQ course comprises training and assessment necessary to enable the installer to certify that their domestic electrical installation work complies with Building Regulations (Part P, and relevant requirements of other regulations).

The course lasts for 5 days and focuses on:

  • understanding regulations standards and terminology,
  • identifying unsafe electrical situations, and
  • performing electrical test procedures.

DISQ is available two levels:

Level A is suitable for experienced installers who undertake the full range of electrical installation and alteration work. Completion of Level A enables you to join the NICEIC Domestic Installer Scheme.

Level B is suitable for experience installers who undertake a limited range of electrical work, associated with non-electrical trades. Completion of Level B enables you to join to the CORGI ECS Scheme.

Materials
Relevant electrical textbooks or manuals are provided to candidates, and additional training materials may be recommended. Tools and materials for use during workshop sessions are provided by WLT. Candidates will need clothing and footwear suitable for workshop sessions.

Additional information

Support: Career Development Loans (CDL) are available to mature students (over 25 years) for certain training courses to cover 80% of the course fees with deferred payments until completion of the course.
