About the course:
Forget those expensive quotes' or just want to start on your own project but not sure how to get going? Then why not join this taster course it will help you in learning the basic carpentry skills, enabling you to apply them to your own project.

Please be aware this course is not a qualification.

Course Content:
You will have a better understanding of how, when and what tools to use, general maintenance of your tools along with health and safety, simple joints and projects. The tutor will also be able to give you those invaluable hints and tips which will make the job or projects easier to do.

Learning Style:
The course will offer the Learning Styles of V.A.R.K which comprises of:

• Visual
• Auditory
• Reading/Writing
• Kinaesthetics

Equipment Requirements:
Students will be advised by the tutor what resources are required for each project and essentials to start your own collection.

Practical/Underpinning knowledge

Progression:
Progression to certificated courses in Wood occupations will be available on your experience, please ask for details, or why not try one of our other trades. Alternatively why not try out our other Basic courses in Bricklaying and Painting & Decorating.

Additional Information:
Attendance - part-time, one session per week. Please note this is not a Government sponsored course. You will, therefore, be required to pay all fees personally.

Enrolment Instructions:
No interview is required for this course.
