Training in coupling and coupling of trailers will be covered when required and the appropriate knowledge of the Highway Code as necessary.

Initial assessment drive

Controlled experience
This is continual driving by the delegate with the instructor carrying out corrections relative to road craft, vehicle consideration, observation and planning, vehicle manoeuvring and Highway Code. This observation will take place under various traffic and road conditions. This will be followed by feedback and discussion with the delegate, on the new skills they have acquired.

Final drive
The delegate will then go on an un-aided drive, using the new skills they have gained. The instructor will complete the final-assessment documentation, in order to establish the level of skill and achievement obtained against the initial objectives set.

Final feedback/ discussion
This will include an explanation of the written report formats.
The delegate will be encouraged to compare their final result with the initial drive - and note the improvements!
