You will develop the skills, knowledge and overall performance of driving instruction. It is appropriate for all types of driving instructors: It provides insight into the principles and processes of driving instruction and will aid career progression. This NVQ is designed for those people who are either training to become, or who are already working as, driving instructors. When you have completed the EDI Level 3 NVQ in Driving Instruction, you will be gaining recognition for your experience in the key areas of: *providing high quality instruction *ensuring the safety of yourself and others *offering a service that is responsive to individual needs *guiding and managing the learning process *staff and business management
What will I learn?
To receive a full NVQ in Driving Instruction (Instruction), you are required to complete all of the mandatory units and a minimum of 2 units from an optional group. Candidates can also achieve any number of the additional units, to reflect the business skills required in your work role. Mandatory Core (8 Units) UNIT 1 - Prepare to drive the vehicle UNIT 2 - Demonstrate safe driving UNIT 3 - Supervise learner driving UNIT 4 - Contribute to Health and Safety in your work environment UNIT 5 - Provide professional customer care UNIT 6 - Facilitate learning in the driving environment through demonstration and instruction UNIT 7 - Facilitate individual learning in the driving environment through coaching UNIT 8 - Monitor and review learner driver progress with learners
How will I be assessed?
You will be observed through real work and instructional activities in your workplace and will produce a portfolio of evidence. Dates for assessment are agreed in advance with you, your employer and the assessor. These will occur on average once a month throughout your program.
