It is fully regulated by law, and installers who contravene the regulation, run the risk of prosecution and financial penalties. The notification of domestic electrical work is to the Local Building Control. Suitable for: All people who do electrical work in a dwelling. Either as an Electrician or as part of another trade.

The notification of domestic electrical work is to the Local Building Control.
The E.A.L. Level 2 Certificate for Domestic Electrical Installers - Part P - is a recognised qualification, which enables the installer to apply for membership to one of the competent person schemes, such as ECA, ELECSA etc; who notify the Building Control on their members’ behalf.
The EAL Level 2 Certificate for Domestic Electrical Installers course involves 5 days training and assessment. The assessment will be a combination of practical exercises and multiple choice exam papers, both of which will relate to Domestic Electrical Installation.
There is one external examination, set and marked by E.A.L. and relating to Applicable Building Regulations for Domestic Electrical Installation.
