Course programme
You’ll explore current issues around children and learn how to make the best provision for children from birth to five years old. You’ll investigate the status of children in society and discuss how practitioners use the voice of the child. You’ll also consider safeguarding principles, including their origins and current safeguarding practice.
Through taught sessions, we’ll provide you with the theory that underpins good practice, alongside study skills needed for effective academic work. Work placements give you the opportunity to apply theory to practice, and your work-based learning allows you to undertake an individual research project in an area of your choice.
Course assessmentThis course is assessed through essays, presentations, reports, reflective portfolios, and work-based learning.
