Description
This Programme of study is designed to update existing experience so that practitioners are competent to deliver the Governments Early Years Foundation Stage. The course is designed for members of the workforce who work face to face with children from birth to 5 years, in regulated settings.

What will I study?
There are 3 units

Unit 1 Context and Principles for Early Years provision.
Unit 2 Promoting Learning and Development in the Early Years.
Unit 3 Promoting Childrens Welfare in the Early Years.


How will I learn?
The underpinning knowledge is delivered using a range of methods including tutorials, group work and practical activities. Time spent in placement is vital to the learning approach, where practitioners will become familiar with the requirements and principles of the Early Years framework within which they work.

How will I be assessed?
Each of the three units will be assessed using the following three methods :

Assessor Observation
Walk and Talk
Written Reflective Task


Where could it lead?
NVQ 4 Childrens Care Learning and Development,
HNC/HND Advanced Practitioner.
The Cache level 3 certificate in Early Years Foundation Stage Practice is one of the first qualifications on the QCF. On this framework credit values are assigned to Cache units.
The total credit value of this award is 18.
