Introduction

This Earned Value Management Black Belt course is designed to help you gain a more in-depth understanding of the Earned Value Management method, and to build on from The Knowledge Academy Earned Value Management Green Belt course.

Upon completion of this course, you will have a full understanding of the theory of Earned Value Management, and be able to apply this theory to and work successfully within an Earned Value Management environment.

Prerequisites

We advise that you to attend the Project Management Green Belt course prior to attending this Black Belt course, or have an understanding of the principles of Earned Value Management.

What is it about?

Earned Value Management is a project control process based on a structured approach to planning, cost collection and performance measurement. The basic concept behind Earned Value Management is that the value of a piece of work is equivalent to the amount of money budgeted to complete it. Work earns its value by being completed before the deadline.

This 3-day course will show you to efficiently complete each stage of the Earned Value Management process, including defining the project scope, creating the project baseline and forecasting project completion.

• Reviewing the principles of Earned Value
• Establishing and managing the project scope, schedule, budget and baselines
• Financial management: applying Earned Value formulae to forecast project performance and anticipate problems

Exam Structure

The course includes a Black Belt examination. This consists of 30 multiple choice questions to be answered within a 60 minute period.
