This class is for adults who hold the ITQ Level 1 Award or have similar experience and wish to improve their computer skills and take the European Computer Driving Licence examination. Gaining this qualification will improve your employment prospects and allow you to prove your IT skills if you are looking for a job or promotion at work. The course is a full level 2 qualification and is comprised of four units. You will need to pass all four units to be awarded the BCS Level 2 Certificate in IT User Skills (ECDL Extra). You will gain confidence, knowledge and understanding of the three main Microsoft applications required in the workplace - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The non-refundable examination fee is included in the course fees.You may wish to purchase a course book. The tutor will give suggestions about these. You will need a memory stick which can be purchased at the college, or provided via the Learner Support fund (if applicable).If you have a low income, or are receiving means tested benefits, ask the Information and Advice team about the financial assistance that may be available to you. Each student has their own computer. Presentations will be made using computers, interactive whiteboard, overhead screen and printed notes. Step-by-step instruction, with demonstrations where appropriate, will help you grasp the concepts. Classes are taught in British Sign Language, and written English.

ECDL Certificate Level 2 qualification and is comprised of four units:
Word processing software
Spreadsheet software
Presentation software
Improving productivity using IT
You will cover all the main areas of these programs to become a competent use of them. You will gain confidence, knowledge and understanding of the three main Microsoft applications required in the workplace - Word, Excel and PowerPoint – as well as improve your productivity through IT use.
