Course summary

This half day course will give you the opportunity to take back control over your emails. You will cover some basic rules for using Outlook and other email systems, some simple office protocols to improve email etiquette, and a useful set of tools to keep emails under control.


Course outline

You will cover:
  • dealing with the overloaded inbox
    • creating and managing rules
    • filing and creating folders
    • using colour for emails
    • clicking and dragging to turn emails into appointments and tasks
  • emails as interruptions
    • when to switch off your email alert
  • the 6 Ds of email
    • how to deal with each email in your inbox as it comes in
  • when to email - and when not to
    • think before your email
    • creating protocols for the team and the organisation
  • email etiquette
  • writing concisely and politely

The Effective Email sessions are half day and last for 2½ hours. Delegates are welcome to join us for lunch either after the session or before it.
