EFL (Pre-intermediate)

Your Course
This course is for students at the pre-intermediate stage. The aim is to build upon the English learned at an elementary stage and develop the students understanding of grammar, extend vocabulary and practice the communicative skills of listening and speaking. Some students at this stage go on to take the UCLES PET (preliminary English test) examination, a qualification recognised worldwide and this course is ideal for practising the skills needed for this exam.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be a testing session at 5.50pm on the first week to check your level.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of 10 weeks you will have been given the opportunity to:
· revise and practice the different tenses, and other areas of English grammar
· extend your vocabulary and use of English
· develop listening skills, through both listening comprehensions and group discussions
· correct common pronunciation problems
· communication orally via discussions, debates and questionnaires
· practice everyday functional language and social situations.
Your Tutor
Lisa Hunt has a degree in French from Liverpool University and a Diploma in teaching English as a Foreign Language from International House, London. She has taught English as a foreign language to both adults and children for many years in France, Spain, Greece, Singapore and the UK.

Tuition fees: £90
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.
Half term:
Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
