About this course

There are no specific entry requirements. However, you will be expected to be working as an aerial fitter or have access to such work experience. Completion of a form 'A' (registration form) will be required.

About the course:
This is a level 2 course providing technical knowledge for arial installers wishing to gain accreditation for Registered Digital Installer Status. The course seeks to correct a shortfall of some 7,000 technicians required in the industry by providing the necessary skill. This is an NVQ delivered through assembling a portfolio of evidence, plus some on-site assessments are necessary. College based tutorial support is available.

Course Content:
The course units are: comply with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements, contributing to positive working relations, establishing customer relationships, installing signal reception equipment in customers' premises, familiarising customers with the use of products, health & safety - working safely at heights with antennas, diagnosing faults in reception systemsand replacing modules in signal reception systems.

A folder to collate your evidence which forms your portfolio

Assessment:
Course assessment is ongoing throughout to monitor progress and understanding, with regular 1:2:1 interviews by appointment will take place to establish assistance required and check progress. There are no formal examinations but the completion of a portfolio of evidence is required for a successful outcome.

Progression:
Progression routes are possible and the tutor will advise you accordingly

Additional Information:
Part-time attendance by appointment. If you are on a qualifying means tested benefit, the tuition fees for some courses may be reduced. However, you will still need to pay Exam and College costs. You must claim tuition fee remission by providing evidence before enrolment.
