What will I learn?
This advanced course of study is for students wishing to operate at a technical and/or supervisory level in the electrical industry. It includes electrical theory and competencies in lighting, motor control, fault finding, testing, commissioning and inspection. The course is delivered through a range of practical and theory sessions: prepare a worksite, establish working relationships, comply with health and safety requirements, install components, carry out basic connections and testing and dealing with customers.

How will I be taught?
This course is taught in a classroom.

How will I be assessed?
The course is assessed through course work and six week block assessments, written and practical assignments; written exam; computer based multiple choice exam.

What could I do next?
Progression is to an NVQ Level 3 when industrially employed. Once completed candidates membership grade with the JIB would be an 'Improver Electricain' and once the AM2 has been completed will earn the grade as an 'Approved Electrican'.

How would this benefit my employer?
Will be competent at level 2 and should be able to complete own work tasks without hands on supervision. Will be able to complete the Inspection, Testing and Commissioning tasks.
