Course programme

  • Would you like your management team to have an edge in the current climate?
  • Would you like your managers to embody your organisation's values?
  • Would you like your executives to go beyond manager training books and really walk the talk?

Embodied Management Training teaches people how to lead authentically with presence, gravitas and charisma. Research shows that 90% of communication is non-verbal and that emotional intelligence and personal impact are the critical factor in success, yet most training does not address these issues. Our executive management training consists of some simple physical practices such as adjusting posture, breathing and attentional training, and non-athletic movement, combined with linguistic training. It improves not just what managers know, but who they are and what they are capable of. Workshops take 2-5 days in an office environment and are suitable for managers, executives and leaders of all levels. We are happy to arrange a free half-day trial or one-to-oneembodied coaching session ahead of group training so that clients can see the benefits of Embodied Management Training and embodied learning.

FAQWhat are some of the benefits of Embodied Management Training?

As all managers are primarily communicators this is a set of critical leadership skills that we work with, both in terms of getting things done day to day, and the deeply personal side of communication - inspiring people and building trust. Our promise is that your managers' personal impact and influencing skills will be radically improved after working with us. Our management development has a large range of other benefits depending depend your strengths and needs. We often brought bring about the following, leading to higher quality work and better results:

  • Inspirational authentic leadership
  • Improved physical health and emotional intelligence
  • The ability to not only manage stress but thrive under pressure.
  • Growth in confidence, assertiveness and humility
  • Increased ability to coordinate as a part of a team. Including improvement in trust building, listening skills, avoiding corporate bullying and appreciating diversity
Is Embodied Learning about body language?

Yes and much, much more. "Body-being" would be more accurate a description of our executive management development as we work at the level of manager's characters, rather than by teaching inauthentic gestures. "Physical intelligence" would be another way of talking about the leadership skills we enhance. We help managers shift who they are to raise their organisation's performance.

Where does Embodied Management Training come from?

Embodied Management Training incorporates various sources from Western psychology and sports science, to Eastern martial arts and mindfulness practices. The field is sometimes called Embodied Leadership®, embodied learning or somatics. The Integration Training team have been trained by the modern day founders of this type of manager training in the United States. We acknowledge Dr Richard Strozzi-Heckler, Wendy Palmer and Dr Paul Linden as teachers with whom we've trained.

A personal note from Integration Training's Lead Trainer Mark Walsh

"I love Embodied Management Training and embodied learning. I see daily how leadership skills not only makes a huge difference to people's job performance but how it's personally transformative...it has been for me! When asked what we do at Integration Training I sometimes say, "the human side of business" and both sides of this are important to me - getting the job done AND supporting the people who do it. My own background is in the field of non-governmental organisations and I've spent years training in embodied work abroad and field testing it in hostile places. The current financial climate is equally challenging and I see the present market as necessitating exactly the kind of effective, centred leaders that we help forge. I am optimistic about the year ahead.

Embodied Management Training is leading-edge work and I'm proud to be part of a team of management consultants at the forefront of this field. I get satisfaction from helping people become better at what they do and seeing managers grow as people. This work is my passion and I look forward to hearing from you in 2009 so that your organisation can benefit from embodied learning and our special brand of manager training."
