About this course
Performing Engineering Operations Level 1, 4 GCSEs Grade D or above BTEC Introductory Diploma in a related subject or other equivalent qualification. You are also required to have a reasonable standard of Maths and English.

Who is the course for?
Students who have an interest in Engineering at a technical or professional level.
What is the course about?
The course will cover the following topics:
Engineering Manufacturing.
Making components using hand tools and fitting techniques
Welding and Sheetmetal work.
Working safely in an Engineering Environment.
Developing yourself and working with other people on Engineering activities.
Curriculum Skills will be an integral part of the course.
Will I need anything else?
Boots and Overalls must be worn in workshop sessions.
Pens, pencils and ring binders are required.
All tools will be provided in practical sessions
How long & often do I attend?
The course starts week beginning 17th September 2009 and runs 16 hours per week for 36 weeks.
Minimum attendance is 90%.
How will I be assessed?
The course will be assessed through a variety of practical tasks and written assignments throughout the year.
