Engineering (Construction Plant and Tool Hire Maintenance)

Introduction
Reaseheath offers the 'off-the-job' training for a large number of local, national and international companies including JCB, Case IH, New Holland (CNH), Claas and 'A' Plant. These engineering apprentices follow either our agricultural engineering programmes or our construction plant courses and are superb opportunities for young people looking for a career with these market leaders. These are part-time courses for those aged 16 and over who prefer to 'earn while they learn'. If you are good with your hands and want a practical career, these could be the courses for you!

About the course
Linked with an employer, you will spend 12-15 weeks per year, over two or three years at Reaseheath attending a series of block release courses. While at college you will be trained by specialist staff in our fully equipped workshops. You will spend the remaining weeks at work practising your new found skills and gaining experience.
As a

Construction Plant Apprentice you will gain your Work-based Diploma Level 2, Functional Skills and First Aid, plus industrial skills as well as a technical certificate (Intermediate Certificate of Training).
As a

Construction Plant Advanced Apprentice you will gain Work-based Diploma Level 3, Functional Skills and First Aid, plus industrial skills, a technical certificate (Advanced Certificate of Training).
As an

Agricultural Engineering Advanced Apprentice you will gain a National Diploma in Land Based Technology plus a wide range of additional industrial qualifications.

Length of the course

  • Apprenticeship 2 years block release 30 weeks in college, typical college block length 3-6 weeks

  • Advanced Apprenticeship 3 year block release programme or 1 year if you have completed an apprenticeship. 8-12 weeks in college per year.
