What will I learn?

You will learn: metal arc gas shielded welding (theory and practice); blacksmithing; metal working techniques such as forging, forming, joining and cutting; and health & safety

How will I be assessed?

This will be based on assignments and practical tasks Students will also develop a project throughout the year

What may it lead to?

You can progress into Higher Education, such as Mechanical Engineering HNC, paid employment or Apprenticeships

Entry Requirements

You will need four GCSE Maths at grade B, GCSE English at grade C, and two other GCSEs at grade C Alternatively, you will need a Level 2 Diploma (Merit) or an equivalent qualification Entry onto the course is subject to an interview
