Course programme

Who is this course for?

This course is for students who want to learn English an international environment and we welcome learners from all over the world who want to improve their English. Students must be aged 16+ and over. We offer full time courses of 15.5 or 19.5 hours of study per week at all levels, from beginners to advanced. All our programmes give learners the opportunity to develop confidence to communicate with native and non-native speakers of English, to develop language learning techniques and strategies and develop their communication, accuracy and fluency. Specific skills classes are offered in listening and speaking and reading and writing. All our classes lead to an internationally recognised qualification e.g. Cambridge English and IELTS. We are accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English and are also a Cambridge English Exam Centre.

What qualifications or experience do I need ?

Our courses are available for beginners (A2 CEFR.) to advanced level learners (C1/C2CEFR.) We will test you to make sure you a placed in the right class.

What will I study ?

The main focus of the department is to develop learners' fluency and accuracy. All teaching staff practise a variety of methods that incorporate independent learning, group work and self-study to encourage analysis and maximise understanding of the language. Exam preparation is included in all courses.

How will I be assessed ?

Weekly assignments and works sheets are set for all students. Project work is also a requirement for additional modules e.g. Reading and Writing, Listening and Speaking The Cambridge exams take place in December, March and June and mock exams are set to assess your progress and suitability. The IELTS exam can be taken every 2 weeks at an external centre.

What qualifications could I achieve ?

How do I join the course ?

Will I need an interview ?

Yes If you are in London you can be assessed and interviewed at Southgate Campus Mon - Fri. 10.00 - 12.00 The test usually takes 1 hour. If you not able to come for an assessment we can send you the assessment test to complete and return. You are also required to attend a Skype interview.

Any extra costs for equipment/materials ?

There will be additional costs if you are interested in taking part in our social programme activities e.g travel fares, theatre tickets and entry to museums etc.
