You'll analyse and compare various texts such as Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre and Shakespeare's Taming the Shrew, to gain a strong understanding of the writer's motives and methods.

Course programme
Texts will include:
- Jane Eyre (Charlotte Bronte),
- Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen),
- Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew,
- Farewell to Arms (Ernest Hemmingway) and Sherriff's Journey's End.
Other forms of literature, including poetry, and additional contextual and interpretational elements, will also be included.
