2. Course description This course is suitable for adults who are looking for work as a teaching assistant but still need to develop their English language, mathematics and information technology skills to a more advanced level. As a student on the programme you will study listening, pronunciation, reading, speaking, spelling and writing skills and learn to use your English in a range of contexts, including school settings, mathematics and information technology situations. You will also work towards a Level 2 certificate in supporting teaching and learning in schools. This course includes subjects like job searching, CV writing and interview preparation, and provides you with opportunities to participate in educational trips and listen to visiting speakers. All applicants are expected to have a voluntary placement in a local school for at least one AP1 per week.
