History

Trinity CertTESOL and Cambridge CELTA Intensives were run in Our Las Palmas TP unit in the past - both excellent courses - BUT - we found there were drawbacks. Such courses, however good, can do little more than scratch the surface. There simply isn't enough time to do everything properly - everything is rushed - and what do you do if you don't feel too good or the pressure gets to you? We decided to stand back from the 1 month intensives and consider other possibilities. The solution was obvious. Re-think the courses - take the very best of everything - and transform the whole into a distance training programme. Make the Teaching Practice flexible and cover all areas of the market - children, students, adults, business classes and 1 - to - 1. The perfect course!

Advantages of studying here

There are two types of TESOL distance-training course: 'free-standing programmes', where the whole course is carried out at a distance, and 'hybrid courses', where there is an additional element of face-to-face study including teaching practiice. Some might perhaps imagine that a distance course is in some way inferior to a presence-taught course or course delivered in person at the centre, but this is most definitely not the case. Distance learning can prove extremely advantageous. The opportunity to follow a very substantial course of professional training at a fee usually lower than normal. Those seeking an internationally recognised professional TESOL qualification are faced with a variety of decisions. Which courses are formally accredited? What type of course will be best? Full-time study or distance-training? So let me list just 8 good reasons to study on a part distance part onsite intensive.    (listed below)

Areas of specialisation

1. The opportunity to follow a very substantial course of professional training at a fee usually lower than normal. 2. The possibility to work from home at your own pace during the course.  3. The opportunity to continue working and earning whilst following a distance-training programme. 4. Adequate time to fully cover and absorb the wide range of material essential to a quality course of professional training. 5. The very considerable saving, in terms of both time and money,  and not having to meet the living costs often involved with 4 and 5 week residentials.  6. Confidence, through the acquisition of substantial subject knowledge, prior to any teaching practice element. 7. Distance-training enables teachers to plan their study programme to fit their work pattern. 8. Students are usually able to start a distance course whenever they wish, able to begin as soon as they enrol.
