Outcome measures have been developed to enable practitioners to measure the effectiveness of their interventions and to establish quality standards. Their use has become increasingly important within the health and social care arena, with individual clients, at service level and for those commissioning services.

About this course

On completion of this course you should be able to:

Demonstrate critical and informed knowledge of a range of outcome measures.
Critically consider the ethical and social implications of outcome measures in practice.
Critically evaluate the implementation of an outcome measure in the workplace.

Occupational therapists. Also available to other health and social care professionals.

You'll usually need:

A qualification in occupational therapy or relevant health and social care profession
The opportunity for work based experience.

Practitioners are becoming increasingly involved in implementing outcome measures in practice. Any outcome measure must be analysed and evaluated before this happens if it is to work effectively.
