Course programme

It is a one-year, full-time course that has been designed to provide relevant academic and professional skills and knowledge for entry into an event management career. This qualification is designed to convert your HND or Foundation Degree into a full BA (Hons) in Leisure Management in one year, with considerable emphasis placed on work based assessments.

What Will I Be Doing?

The course will commence in mid-September and you will graduate in the following July. There are two 14 week semesters, plus a two week bridging period in September. The first two weeks of the course are an intensive 'crash course' in study skills; enabling you to study at the higher level required for a degree qualification.

You will spend two days a week in College for formal lectures, plus additional work in your own time on coursework, reading and assignments. In addition, an enrichment programme is available where you can gain coaching awards or play recreational sport. The College also runs sports teams including football and netball.

If you are already working within the Event/Exhibition or Conference industry then Loughborough College offers two additional modes of study. This course can be studied by block release, where students are expected to attend five 2-day blocks throughout the year. Students can also study through the option of day release, where they will be expected to attend one day per week.

  • Specialist guest speakers and trade exhibitions are organised on a regular basis.
  • There is also the opportunity for European travel as part of this course

Special Features

As part of the course, a range of day visits are organised to conference facilities and events, e.g. Leicester Tigers, Ricoh Arena, National Indoor Arena, Manchester City Stadium
