Evidence Based Practice

Evidence based practice is an approach to clinical problem solving and health care provision based on "good evidence". The purpose of evidence based practice is to help you to keep pace with important advances in your clinical field by selecting from the literature those research papers whose results are most likely to be both true and useful.You need to take account of the strength of evidence about clinical practices and cost effectiveness when making investments in new and existing services. In addition, you need to consider present and future clinical practices and relate your clinical expertise to the evidence which is present in the research literature.This module is designed to enable you to gain knowledge and skills to be able to confidently and competently evaluate the evidence for your clinical practice.
