These two sessions will explore the use of resin in jewellery making; specifically how to introduce colour into resin through adding pigments, materials and objects, with striking effect. We'll guide you in preparing resin, adding colours and other special effects, the use of moulds, and also safe working practice.

About this course

- Mix resins- Add colour pigments- Create a series of samples- Clean up resin – file, sand and polish- Embed materials and objects- Use a variety of resin techniques to use at home- Work safely on your own with resin.

City Lit provides all the basic materials and equipment which you will need, although you may wish to bring your own small objects or materials to try embedding in the resin. You are advised that sensible footwear must be worn in the studio. For heath and safety reasons no sandals, open shoes or small pumps can be worn, even in hot weather.

Through practical demonstrations both to the group and to individuals. Group discussions and feedback are encouraged.
About your tutor:
Liane Wolf
A jewellery designer/maker with a background in Fine Arts, majoring in painting at the National Art School in Sydney. Liane started making jewellery while living in Copenhagen in 2000. Having initially worked in metal, Liane now combines resin with precious metals and paper, and more recently she has been working with anodised aluminium. Liane has taught on adult education, community outreach and diploma courses since 2008. At City Lit, she predominantly teaches resin and introductory classes to metal work.
