2. Course description This course will prepare you for LV0 to higher education in information technology, and give you the essential knowledge, understanding and skills to progress into a number of specific areas of work that will incorporate the use of information and communications technology, and move on to a more responsible job if already in employment. The programme is particularly suitable for those who would like to concentrate on the networking and systems support pathway. As a student on this course, you will take modules including: Project Planning with Information Technologies; Mathematics for Information Technology Practitioners; Communications Technologies; Information Technology System Troubleshooting and Repair; Technical Support; Managing Networks; Computer Networks and Cisco. Students learn through a mix of workshops, written assignments, formal teaching and self-study. If you have not already gained a C grade for GCSE English and GCSE Mathematics, working towards this will form part of your programme of study.
