Course Summary:
Developed in partnership with FA Learning, the education arm of The Football Association, the Certificate in Coaching Football develops learners’ knowledge of how to plan, conduct and evaluate coaching sessions in football effectively so that they can coach football to players of all ages.
The Certificate qualifies successful learners to lead football coaching sessions and to be employed as a football coach in local amateur junior/senior clubs, FA Charter Standard clubs and schools, local authority community football schemes and Football in the Community schemes.

Prior to certification, learners are required to:
be at least 16 years of age

Course programme

Course Content: There are three blocks of learning. Your entry point on the course will depend on your prior level of training. e.g. if you have previously completed an FA Youth Module 1, you will start the course in block 2. Candidates need to have completed Youth Module 1 and Youth Module 2 prior to starting block 3, which is the Level 2 in Coaching Football Certificate. The three blocks of learning are focussed around: 1. How we coach 2. How we support 3. How we play How will I be assessed? You will be assessed through content knowledge and practical delivery of coaching sessions. Are there any additional costs or specialist equipment required? There are no further costs involved. What can I do after this course? On completion of this course, you may wish to study the Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching at Derby College or go on to study an FA Level 3 (Uefa B) in Coaching Football.
