To practise as a farrier you need to be registered with the Worshipful Company of Farriers. To register with the Worshipful Company of Farriers you will need to successfully complete a recognised Apprenticeship in Farriery and The Worshipful Company of Farriers Diploma. One of the aims of this course is to provide an entry qualification route so that you can apply for an Apprenticeship in Farriery. Gaining an Apprenticeship in Farriery can be difficult and having basic skills in blacksmithing, welding and equine knowledge can greatly enhance your chances of success.
