You will need four GCSEs grades A-C or equivalent fashionexperience. Applicants are invited to the College for an interviewand will need to bring a portfolio of art work and a record ofachievement if available.

This course is for those who want to develop their fashion
skills into career prospects. This work is recorded in a personal
portfolio for interview purposes.
What will I study?
This course offers high level training in creative development
using strong technical skills, combined with research based
production. You will explore design, pattern cutting, garment
construction using industrial methods and will be given an
introduction to Computer Aided Design. The workshops and studios
are well equipped with industrial machinery and you will work in
realistic working environments. The course includes regular visits
to exhibitions, galleries and museums, and you will have the chance
to show off your work at the exciting end of year Fashion Show. All
students are encouraged to develop a strong portfolio to enable
them to progress on to higher education. Lewisham College has
strong links with higher education institutions including the
London College of Fashion and Ravensbourne College.
What can I do next?
This can lead to progression onto foundation or honours
degrees.

You will need four GCSEs grades A-C or equivalent fashion
experience. Applicants are invited to the College for an interview
and will need to bring a portfolio of art work and a record of
achievement if available.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is in various ways, including assignments, class
work, group work, phase tests, oral presentations, projects and
formal examinations. It will be through meeting the objectives of
the set assignments and achieving the deadlines. You will also have
regular meetings with your personal tutor to discuss your progress
and to help plan your studies. Additional support, help and
guidance is also available from the Guidance Team or from our Study
Buddies. There is continuous assessment over 18 units of
development. Students also have regular meetings with a personal
tutor to discuss progress and to help plan studies and
progression.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
