You've already done our "Introduction to Fashion Journalism "course. Now you want to practice and improve your skills and plan your next steps towards a professional career. If that is the case, look no further. In this intermediate course you'll work on projects tailored to your career goals and receive personal advice on how to progress. And get loads of practice along the way.
Topics covered
With tutor support and feedback, you will establish and develop your own set of goals to achieve during the course.
Your objectives could range from getting internships and working on fashion shoots to getting work published as a freelancer. They could involve signing onto PR's lists, going to events and writing up news stories. Or simply getting help applying for a job.
Individual projects may include coming up with ideas for the content of a new publication, how to pitch your ideas to editors or setting up a personal blog.
You will be expected to work on your projects for at least two full days each week outside class time.
Depending on your goals, by the end of the course you will:
- have some finished work to show to potential employers
- be able to send feature ideas to magazines
- know how to maximise your applications for internships and job opportunities
- be on the way to start working in fashion journalism
