Description

    Foundation degree

Overview This programme is designed to enable Early Years practitioners and educators to build on the knowledge and experience they have built in their existing employment and raise their level of professional qualification to Foundation Degree Level. This is done both through practical application and academic study. Since this higher level of study enhances the quality of children's experiences in Early Years care and education, the programme offers practitioners a route into Higher Education without the need to leave paid employment and be removed from current issues and responsibilities. Aims of the course To meet the needs of staff employed in children's services towards integrated multi-agency workforce led by graduate leaders. To combine university study and work based learning to enable applicants to develop professionalism and advance their career prospects whilst maintaining their practice in their current settings. To develop innovative and effective teaching and learning in the Early Years sector. To build a community of learning to strengthen and develop the awe and wonder of education.
