About this course

You will learn how technology, business and human creativity have forged the contemporary media world in which we live. You will be challenged to engage critically and imaginatively with a wide variety of forms and styles from around the world and from different historical periods. And you will have the chance to study screenwriting, cinematography, sound design and digital editing, from both practical and critical points of view.

Graduates can pursue careers in film and television companies, museums and galleries, arts administration and teaching. This degree may also be useful in becoming a programme researcher (broadcasting/film/video), museum/gallery curator, arts administrator or higher education lecturer.

We welcome applicants without traditional entry qualifications as we base decisions on our own assessment of qualifications, knowledge and previous work experience. We may waive formal entry requirements based on judgement of academic potential.

Upon successful completion of the Foundation Year, you can automatically progress on to our three-year, full-time evening study BA Film and Media.
