First Aid at Work – Refresher

This is an intense programme covering all aspects of First Aid. The certificate will be valid for 3 years.

Course Content

• Legislations
• Roles & Responsibilities of the First Aider
• Basic Life Support
• CPR
• Recognition of minor conditions including Asthma, Epilepsy and Meningitis
• Fractures
• Dressings
• Burns/Scalds
• Poisons

Assessment:
Each candidate will be assessed on their competency at Basic Life Support, including CPR, dressing and bandages. (Active participation is essential for this course!) Underpinning knowledge will be formatively assessed throughout. This will be in the form of Q & A, flip charts, work, individual tutor observation and group scenarios.

This course should be considered by any candidate whose valid certificate is due for renewal.

Please note: It has to be undertaken before the expiry date of current certificate.
