Level 3 Ofqual Qualification

On successful completion of the course, the delegate will receive a First Aid at Work Level 3 certificate. This is valid for 3 years. Dynamo Concise Training also offer continuous support once you have qualified, including information about changes in first aid techniques, regular newsletters and discounted prices on further courses as well as refresher courses.

About this course

The First Aid at Work certificate is valid for three years from date of completion. If your First Aid at Work certificate is about to expire or has done so within 28 days of the expiry date, you would need to undertake the First Aid Requalification. This is a 2 day course that will ensure that you are kept up to date with new practices and legislation that are introduced as well as to ensure that your skills and knowledge are kept up to date.

I have been a trainer for 10 years. I train a variety of subjects, including security, licensing, first aid and teacher training. I have worked in the security industry for over 20 years, in various disciplines, including Close Protection, Door Supervision and as a CCTV operative. I utilise a variety of training techniques to ensure every learner feels included within the classroom environment.

Course programme

Course content:
  • Aims and principles of first aid.
  • Prevention of cross infection during first aid procedures.
  • Basic life support (CPR).
  • Management of the unconscious casualty.
  • Assessment and treatment of common major and minor illnesses, including fractures, dislocation, head injuries, epilepsy and diabetes.
  • Assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or shocked.
  • How to deal with burns, poisoning and eye injuries.
  • Managing asthma attacks and choking.
  • Legal aspects of first aid at work – record keeping and use of equipment.
How the qualification is assessed:

The course is run at our fully equipped training room over 2 days. This is a single unit qualification, assessed by a 12 question, multiple choice examination, followed by 3 practical assessments. These include incident management, dealing with shock, dealing with an unconscious casualty and CPR. Successful candidates must achieve a score of at least 9 correct answers out of 12 in the multiple choice examination before moving on to the practical assessments.
