What do I need to get on the course? Computer skills should be Entry 3 or equivalent. Because this is a self-taught course, students need to be able to follow written instructions.
What will I study?
· Unit 1 Word Processing (Core unit) with Microsoft Word
· Unit 2 Spreadsheets with Microsoft Excel
· Unit 3 Databases with Microsoft Access
· Unit 4 Desktop Publishing with Microsoft Publisher
· Unit 5 PowerPoint with Microsoft PowerPoint
What qualification will I get? Each unit is accredited as part of the new OCR Level 1 Certificate for IT Users (New CLAIT). Successfully complete one core unit plus two others for the full Certificate, or complete one core unit plus four others for the Diploma.
What can I do after the course?
Students who successfully complete a unit can progress to level 2 or do further units at level 1
How do I get on the course?
Come to the Centre for Lifelong Learning, 28-42 Blackstock Road N4 in term time Wednesdays 10am-12noon or 5-7pm. Students may need to take an assessment to check their IT Skills.
How much does the course cost? Concessionary students pay a £40 annual registration charge which covers any courses where concessions are available.
