"Why not pursue a career as an accounting technician.

The AAT Education and Training Scheme offers 3 levels of study: Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting. Students can commence study at the Certificate level with no previous accounting experience. Students must register with the AAT to be eligible to sit the examinations.
This programme is also available as an Apprenticeship giving young people aged 16 and over the opportunity to combine the experience of working, with the added benefit of college attendance on a day release (or evening) basis.

About this course

You will need 5 GCSEs to include Mathematics and English Language (minimum grade 4/C or equivalent). You are also required to provide a reference and undertake a diagnostic assessment.
