What will I study?
The Foundation Degree in Construction (Fd Sc) provides the necessary skills development for students wishing to progress in careers at higher technician and middle management level, in a relevant professional discipline. These include construction design and management, site production, quantity and/or site surveying at higher technician level. The course comprises both core and optional modules. Assessment involves a combination of coursework, presentation exercises and examinations. The course is franchised from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) where a range of suitable degree programmes are available for progression (usually undergraduate Hons programmes). All assignments and examinations for this course will be externally moderated by the University. The course is designed to be studied on a part-time day basis. The course is primarily aimed at personnel already working in the construction industry - it is also suitable for people looking to change roles within a construction related discipline or organisation. Potential Students will need to have achieved BTEC National Diploma or National Certificate, GNVQ Advanced or AVCE in a Construction related discipline (at Level 3).

Successful students can progress to a full degree course, in the same or similar subject, and/or be considered for progress into middle management within the Construction Industry.
