Course Description
Subject to Validation by University of Bradford.
This Sector Endorsed Foundation Degree gives you the knowledge and skills required to fulfil a senior role in early years settings and provides an opportunity for professionals to progress from qualifications gained in Further Education into Higher Education. It is primarily designed for practitioners qualified at Level 3, with some post qualifying experience.
We offer you the opportunity to experience practice with young children alongside your academic studies. On completion of the Foundation Degree course students either work within the early years sector or continue to study for a full degree, followed by Early Years Professional Status, QTS or PGCE for teaching.
We encourage and embed personal reflection and critical thinking skills in relation to practice across all early years settings for children from 0 to 8 years of age. At the same time we encourage you to think about your own qualities and interpersonal skills and areas for personal development. Assessment methods include essays, portfolios, presentations, child case studies, projects and action research.
